In appreciation: The music of Jim Croce

I already shared I Got a Name, the Jim Croce song from Django Unchained soundtrack. So since I loved that tune, I decided to give his albums a listen. These are my favorites so far:

Which Way Are You Goin’

Ol’ Man River (cover)

and from his greatest hits:

New York’s Not My Home

Operator (That’s Not the Way It Feels)

Time In A Bottle

Are you new to Jim Croce as I was? Which music are you listening to at the moment? As always, share your thoughts in the comments.

  1. When I heard that song in Django Unchained, I was like… “who is this? This is good!” At first, I was thinking for some reason that it was John Denver. Then I realized it was Jim Croce. I only heard songs like “Bad Leroy Brown” and “Time in a Bottle” but wow… there's got to be more gems there.

Quentin needs to be thanked because I think he might re-introduce the world to Croce.

  2. @thevoid99: Quentin brings back old music like he brings back old actors (:

I listened to Original Albums…Plus (2011), which contains 50 songs: Jim Croce's three certified gold studio albums, plus 16 tracks released posthumously.
I still need to track down The Faces I've Been (1975), an album of cover songs he did, from what I can tell, only available on vinyl.
